Information We Collect

Account Information: Email, username, and password (hashed).
Profile Data: Uploaded avatars, profile pictures.
User Content: Chat messages and interactions within the platform.
Moderation Data: If you report a message, we record who reported it, the reason you chose, any optional detail you write, and a reference to the reported message. If you block another member, we record who blocked whom so we can hide their messages from you. Blocking is one way: the person you block is not told and sees no change.
Usage Data: Logs and usage patterns (non-personal, for performance monitoring).
Push Notification Tokens: If you enable notifications in our mobile app, we collect the push token your device issues and whether it is an iOS or Android device. These tokens are generated by Expo together with Apple Push Notification service or Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging, and are linked to your account so we can send notifications to your devices.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the platform.
To personalize your experience.
To communicate with you (e.g., updates, notifications).
To send push notifications to your mobile devices about activity relevant to you, such as new chat messages, someone overtaking you on a leaderboard, achievements you or your team complete, and leaderboard cycles ending. You can turn push notifications off entirely, or by type, in the app's settings or in your device settings. We do not use push tokens for advertising or tracking.
To review reported content and enforce our Terms, including removing content and restricting or removing accounts that violate them.
To hide messages from members you have blocked, and to mask offensive words when messages are displayed. You can choose to show strong language in your settings; slurs are always masked.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies only to operate your session: a signed session cookie that keeps you logged in while you use the site, and an optional "remember me" cookie if you ask us to keep you signed in between visits. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it with the service providers that operate the platform, under confidentiality agreements:

Amazon Web Services (S3): Stores uploaded images and profile pictures.
Postmark: Delivers transactional email such as password resets and invitations, and delivers content reports to our support inbox when a member reports a message.
Expo: Delivers push notifications to your devices, together with Apple Push Notification service and Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Giphy and Pexels: Power GIF and image search. Your search terms are sent to those services. Your account information is not. We request only G-rated results from Giphy.
Anthropic: Generates leaderboard themes. We send the theme you type, which is free text you control. We do not send your account information, your chat messages, or your leaderboard scores.
HubSpot: Syncs the CRM data you authorize, only if your organization connects it.
We may also share data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, and we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe.

Chat messages are stored as you wrote them. Offensive words are masked when a message is displayed, not when it is stored, so that we can review what was actually said if it is reported.

Moderation records are kept separately from your account data:

A message removed by its author or by a moderator stops being visible to everyone immediately, but the record is retained indefinitely so that we can show what action was taken and why. We do not currently delete these records on a schedule.
Content reports are retained indefinitely. If you delete your account, the report remains but is no longer linked to you.
Blocks you have created are deleted when either account is deleted.

If you delete your account, messages you posted remain on the boards you posted them to but are no longer linked to you.

Children's Privacy

HypedBoards is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children without parental consent.

Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption and secure storage.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use implies acceptance.
